An Old Town Vintage Charmer
As Old Town Fort Collins’ only independent hotel, the Armstrong Hotel remains dedicated to their heritage which began in 1923. Which is why in 2019 the hotel was transformed with a thoughtful and timeless renovation. The newly expanded lobby now creates an even stronger sense of community right inside the front door, with lively and inviting spaces for all.
The design of the Armstrong drew inspiration from the rich agricultural heritage of Fort Collins, along with a gentle nod to the twenties time period of its formation. We created additional seating areas, for guest to gather or work, along with a general store / mercantile reception. The space was layered with vintage rugs, reclaimed wood, brick walls, modern lighting and Fort Collins antiques. Chris built the community tables in the lobby from reclaimed wood and custom metal bases.
The guestrooms had great bones (wood floors) and were cleaned up with local art, brass beds, trunk side tables and new bath vanities.
Design in conjunction with Shalls Design Studio. The Armstrong Hotel has been featured in Architectural Digest, Hospitality Design, Hotel Business, NoCo Style and The Coloradoan.
